Turin Astrophysical Observatory, Research facility and scientific library in Pino Torinese, Italy
The Turin Astrophysical Observatory contains research departments focused on extragalactic astrophysics, stellar investigation, solar system studies, particle physics, and cosmology investigations.
Founded in 1759, the observatory moved from Via Po to the Academy of Sciences, then to Palazzo Madama in 1822, before settling in Pino Torinese in 1912.
The library maintains over 15,000 books and 1,300 scientific journals, representing international research in astronomy, astrophysics, and space physics studies.
The facility offers document delivery services and interlibrary loans, with a librarian available from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM for assistance and requests.
In 2012, the observatory expanded its capabilities by incorporating the Interplanetary Space Physics Institute, strengthening its position in space research.
