Motovelodromo Fausto Coppi, Cycling stadium in Turin, Italy
The Motovelodromo Fausto Coppi is a cycling stadium in Turin, built around a concrete banked track and surrounded by tiered spectator seating. In addition to the track, the facility includes outdoor courts for padel and beach volleyball.
The stadium opened in 1920 and was one of the first facilities of its kind in Italy. It was heavily damaged during World War II and rebuilt in 1947, resuming activity in the post-war years.
The velodrome has carried the name of Fausto Coppi since 1990, honoring one of the most celebrated Italian cyclists, who spent a large part of his career based in Turin. His name still resonates strongly in Piedmont, and this venue gives visitors a sense of how deeply cycling is rooted in local identity.
The stadium is located within the city of Turin and is easy to reach on foot or by public transport from the center. Since most of the sports facilities are outdoors, dry weather makes for a more complete visit.
The velodrome is planned as the western starting point of VENTO, a long-distance cycling route that would link Turin to Venice following the Po River. Anyone completing the full route would begin or end their journey here.
