San Biagio, Venice, Baroque church in Castello district, Venice, Italy.
The Chiesa di San Biagio stands next to the Naval History Museum, featuring frescoes of Saint Blaise in Glory by Giovanni Scajaro on its interior vault.
The church underwent complete reconstruction between 1745 and 1752 according to the architectural plans created by Filippo Rossi to establish its current structure.
The building served as a spiritual center for the Greek community that found refuge in Venice after Constantinople fell, continuing this role until 1511.
San Biagio functions as a military church under the care of a military chaplain, providing religious services to members of the armed forces in Venice.
The left wall contains a funerary monument holding the heart of Archduke Friedrich of Austria, while Admiral Angelo Emo's tomb displays Ferrari's 1818 statue.
