Shrine of Nostra Signora della Guardia

The Renaissance Revival basilica measures 49 meters in length, 26 meters in width, and reaches a height of 45 meters at its summit.

The initial chapel construction began after Benedetto Pareto reported a Marian apparition on August 29, 1490, leading to the establishment of this religious site.

The basilica displays frescoes by Antonio Santagata from 1963, depicting various scenes from the life of the Virgin Mary throughout its three aisles.

Located 20 kilometers from Genoa, the shrine provides accommodation facilities for pilgrims and visitors who travel to this elevated religious destination.

From the church terrace, visitors observe the Ligurian Sea, Genoa's coastline, and during clear weather conditions, the island of Corsica and Matterhorn peaks.
