Teatro San Angelo, Historical theatre near Rialto Bridge, Venice, Italy
The Teatro San Angelo stood facing the Grand Canal, designed by architect Francesco Santurini with a strategic position near the Rialto Bridge.
The theatre operated from 1677 to 1803, starting with the inaugural performance of Helena rapita da Paride by composer Domenico Freschi.
Antonio Vivaldi directed numerous opera performances at Teatro San Angelo from 1715, establishing the venue as a center for musical innovation.
The former theatre location now houses the Hotel NH Collection Palazzo Barocci, maintaining the historical connection through architectural elements.
Giacomo Casanova managed the theatre in 1780, introducing promotional strategies and double-bill performances to attract larger audiences.
