Castle Moos-Schulthaus, Medieval museum in Eppan an der Weinstraße, Italy
The castle complex combines residential and agricultural buildings, featuring a three-story residential tower surrounded by vineyards on the back of Gleif Hill.
In 1270, the property consisted of a small castle and two residences, later transferred to the Von Schulthaus family through marriage after the original noble family line ended.
The museum exhibits Gothic-style rooms, medieval work tools, and 15th-century frescoes depicting the unusual theme of Cats and Mice Wars alongside the Tree of Abundance.
Access requires advance reservations for guided tours available Tuesday through Sunday, with adult admission at 10 euros and student rates at 5 euros.
The Walther Amonn Foundation offers art workshops where participants learn about historical color production techniques and create their own paintings inspired by the castle frescoes.
