Civic Museum of Bozen, Local museum in Bolzano, Italy
The Civic Museum of Bozen contains over 200 art pieces spanning from the 8th to 20th century, including stucco works and wooden altars.
Founded by the Bolzano Museum Association in 1882, the museum was constructed using the foundations of the medieval Hurlach Residence and opened in 1905.
The museum exhibits a collection of South Tyrolean art, from Romanesque sculptures to Gothic paintings, representing the region's artistic development through centuries.
The museum, located at Via Cassa di Risparmio 14, remains closed for fire safety upgrades until spring 2025, with parking available at Piazza Vittoria.
The museum's library contains 30,000 volumes of historical, artistic, and archaeological texts, accessible through the Town Library's digital catalogue system.
