Palazzo della Carovana, Historic palace in Italy
Palazzo della Carovana is a large building located in the Knights' Square of Pisa.
It was built in 1562–1564 as the headquarters of the Knights of St. Stephen by Giorgio Vasari.
The palace's facade is decorated with sgraffiti representing allegories, zodiac signs, and historical figures.
Today, it houses the Scuola Normale Superiore di Pisa, an elite institution of higher learning.
The building's name, 'Carovana', comes from the procession of knights that was held annually.
