Last Supper, Religious fresco in San Salvi Museum, Italy

The Last Supper fresco, measuring 468 centimeters in height and 871 centimeters in width, fills the entire back wall of the refectory at San Salvi.

Andrea del Sarto completed this fresco between 1526 and 1527, which survived the 1529 siege of Florence when soldiers spared it from destruction.

The composition depicts Jesus revealing the upcoming betrayal, with Judas positioned on his right side while receiving a piece of bread.

The Museum of Andrea del Sarto's Last Supper houses additional 16th-century artworks by Florentine masters and includes a fragment of San Giovanni Gualberto's funerary monument.

Two figures observe the scene from a painted terrace above the main fresco, creating an additional narrative layer to the biblical scene.
