Civita Castellana Cathedral

The cathedral features a three-nave structure with pillars, displaying Romanesque architecture and containing a bell tower constructed in 1602.

The structure emerged in 1101 on the site of a former pagan temple dedicated to Jupiter and underwent reconstruction between 1818 and 1840.

The cathedral houses Zuccari frescoes depicting Stories of the Virgin and Saint John, along with a wooden coffered ceiling designed by Giacomo Del Duca.

The cathedral maintains regular visiting hours and contains multiple chapels connected through side passages, offering access to religious services and architectural tours.

A plaque marks Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's visit in 1770, when he performed on the cathedral's organ during Mass.
