Pizzo Dosdè

Pizzo Dosdè is a mountain in the Livigno Alps featuring a distinct pyramid shape with three ridges radiating from its central peak. This distinctive form makes it easily recognizable within the alpine landscape.

The mountain was first documented to be climbed on August 14, 1879, by mountaineers K. Heumann and L. Giacometti. This early ascent established it as a recognized climbing destination in the region.

The mountain derives its name from Alpe Dosdè, referring to the surrounding meadows, and forms part of a circular mountain chain with Corno di Dosdè.

Access is via Val Viola from the Arnoga hamlet over a seasonal paved road that typically operates from mid-April through mid-November. Visitors should verify access conditions and prepare for mountainous terrain.

Two mountain shelters sit within the area: Rifugio Federico stands at around 2,100 meters and the Caldarini bivouac at approximately 2,550 meters. These facilities offer climbers important support points during their mountaineering journey.
