Abbazia di San Salvatore, Gothic church in Fucecchio, Italy.
The abbey features a wide nave with lateral altars designed in Vasarian style, complemented by a sturdy bell tower at the rear section.
Founded by Count Cadolo near the Arno River in 986, the abbey was reconstructed on Salamarzana hill after a devastating flood destroyed it in 1106.
The church preserves a significant wooden crucifix from the 16th century and displays a canvas depicting Christ on the cross with religious figures.
The abbey maintains regular opening hours for visitors and continues to function as an active religious center under the Poor Clares sisters.
The church houses a rare organ from 1626, created by Lucchese craftsmen Andrea and Cosimo Ravani, representing regional instrument making traditions.
