Sant'Antonin

Sant'Antonin is a Baroque church in the Castello district with multiple chapels decorated with frescoes, ceiling paintings, and detailed altarpieces throughout its interior. The building displays ornamental details across its spaces and features a bell tower that was added in 1750.

The church was founded in the 7th century by the Badoer family and underwent major reconstruction in 1680 under architect Baldassare Longhena. These rebuilding efforts transformed the structure into the Baroque form that visitors see today.

The chapel of Saint Saba displays frescoes and religious artworks created by skilled painters that visitors can observe throughout the space. The decoration reflects artistic traditions that were developed and maintained within these walls over time.

The church is open to visitors during regular hours and stands near other religious monuments in the Castello area. You can reach it easily on foot, and wearing comfortable shoes is advised for exploring the neighborhood and interior spaces.

The chapel houses relics of Saint Saba that were brought from Acre during the 13th century by Lorenzo Tiepolo. This link to distant travels and religious journeys gives the church a particular historical significance.
