Bric Puschera

Bric Puschera is a mountain summit standing at 845 meters in elevation, representing the highest point across Asti province and the surrounding Langa astigiana region. The slopes descend sharply from the peak, creating wide views across multiple landscape zones.

The mountain was once known by the name Ursaiola and houses a small church from the sixteenth century dedicated to Saint Fermo. This chapel was built upon the foundations of an earlier medieval structure.

The surrounding slopes display eroded formations known as calanchi, which have shaped how local farmers work the land over many generations. These distinctive ridges mark the relationship between the people living here and their challenging countryside.

Access to this peak is available via the Savona-Acqui-Alessandria train line, though trains serve the area with limited frequency. Visitors should allocate a full day for the climb and exploration.

From the summit, visitors can see three distinct geographical regions at once: the Alps, the Ligurian Apennines, and the Ligurian Riviera. This rare vantage point makes it a special spot for understanding the broader landscape.
