Castle of Compiano, Medieval castle in Compiano, Italy
The Castle of Compiano stands atop a hill in Val di Taro, Parma district, commanding views across the Emilia Romagna region's landscapes.
Built in the early Middle Ages by the Lombards, the castle passed from the Malaspina family to the Commune of Piacenza and then to the Landi family.
The castle houses the International Masonic Museum Orizzonti Massonici, exhibiting British Masonic artifacts from the 18th and 19th centuries.
Visitors can access guided tours of the castle, which includes ancient furnishings and exhibitions displaying the lifestyle of former noble residents.
Room 33 contains a collection of Italian Masonic relics and objects from the Grande Oriente d'Italia - Palazzo Giustiniani.
