Castello di Montalto

Castello di Montalto is a medieval castle in Castelnuovo Berardenga featuring a watchtower that rises above the Tuscan landscape. The structure comprises multiple residential buildings and apartments that now serve as guest accommodations, with space for approximately 44 visitors.

The castle was founded in the 9th century by Count Berardo of the Berardenga family and has defined the region ever since. It underwent multiple transformations during the conflicts between Siena and Florence, which left lasting marks on its structure and character.
