Castle of Calice al Cornoviglio

The Doria-Malaspina Castle stands at 600 meters elevation, commanding views across the Val di Vara, the longest valley in Liguria, Italy.

Dating back to 1033, the castle underwent modifications through centuries, transforming from a military stronghold into a residence for noble families.

The castle houses seven museums, including the Pinacoteca Davide Beghe art gallery and a World War Resistance museum displaying period artifacts.

The castle opens Tuesday through Friday from 8 AM to 1 PM, and weekends from 3 PM to 7 PM, with guided tours available upon request.

The castle basement contains a specialized museum dedicated to beekeeping, reflecting the Val di Vara region's traditional honey production methods.
