The stone church features a Gothic portal with intricate decorations, a square bell tower, and multiple altars arranged along its interior walls.
The church construction began in 1276 when Countess Tommasa di Palearia permitted Franciscans to establish themselves at the former chapel of San Siro.
The church contains twelve carved choir stalls decorated with geometric patterns and biblical figures, representing Medieval Italian craftsmanship.
The church stands adjacent to the Filippo Ferrari archaeological museum, which displays artifacts discovered in the Comino necropolis and surrounding areas.
Every 25 years, the relics of San Nicola Greco, donated by Napoleone I Orsini in 1340, are carried through the streets in a ceremonial procession.
