San Nicolao, Medieval church in Monsummano Castle, Italy.

San Nicolao features a single nave design with wooden trusses and a semicircular apse hidden from exterior view by the sacristy.

The church, established in the 11th century, belonged to the medieval diocese of Lucca and appeared in the 1260 catalog of Lucchese churches.

The interior houses a wooden crucifix from the 14th-15th century, displaying the artistry of medieval religious craftsmen in Tuscany.

Located at Via Castello di Monsummano Alto 8, the church stands within the defensive structures of Monsummano Castle in Tuscany.

The church bell tower, positioned on the right side of the building, served as part of the castle defense system.
