Sant'Andrea Church

The rectangular stone building contains a nave and features walls decorated with multiple frescoes from different artistic periods of Italian history.

The church dates back to the 11th or 12th century, initially constructed as a private chapel and oratory by citizens who exercised Jus et patronatus rights.

The interior frescoes include works attributed to Bernardo Zenale and Bernardino Butinone, with a triptych depicting the Immaculate Conception with Saint Catherine and Saint Jerome.

Located on Via A. Pasta in Melzo, the church remains accessible for visitors interested in examining the religious art and architecture of Lombardy.

During restoration work in 1980, workers discovered a skull in the apse, leading to investigations about its potential connection to Duke Galeazzo Maria Sforza.
