Delizia di Belriguardo

The Delizia di Belriguardo extends across thirty hectares, featuring dozens of frescoed halls decorated by leading artists of its time.

Niccolò III d'Este commissioned the construction of this first summer residence outside Ferrara's walls between 1435 and 1437.

The villa houses the Civic Museum with three sections displaying archaeological finds, Renaissance artworks, and contemporary pieces from the region.

Visitors can explore the remaining fish pond where the Este family organized naval performances for their distinguished guests.

The archaeological section exhibits the world's only complete Indian onyx balsamarium and a rare amber ring depicting Heroes and Nike.
