San Giovanni Battista, Renaissance church in Loano, Italy
The decagonal church features a segmented dome reaching 50 meters high, with a bronze statue of John the Baptist positioned at its summit.
The Doria family commissioned the construction of San Giovanni Battista in 1633, replacing a previous fifteenth-century religious structure on the same location.
The interior contains numerous seventeenth-century paintings, including works by Luciano Borzone, Orazio De Ferrari, and Giovanni Andrea Ansaldo depicting religious scenes.
The church welcomes visitors daily from 7 AM to 6 PM, with Sunday Mass services scheduled at 8 AM, 10 AM, 11 AM, and 5 PM.
The bell tower incorporates materials from a former parish church and includes a Gothic tower section housing six bells tuned to Mi3.
