Monte Finonchio, Mountain summit in Rovereto, Italy
Monte Finonchio is a mountain in the Venetian Prealps near Rovereto that rises to 1,603 meters. The terrain features several marked trails passing through thick forests and open alpine meadows.
The mountain once served as a strategic observation point during regional conflicts in past times. A mountain shelter called Rifugio Finonchio Fratelli Filzi was later built near the summit.
Local mountaineering groups organize regular guided excursions to Monte Finonchio, teaching participants about alpine flora and geological formations.
The summit can be reached from Rovereto on several marked trails of varying difficulty. Good hiking boots and weather-appropriate clothing are essential for any season.
The mountain ranks as the 84th most prominent peak among 1,796 summits in the Province of Trento, with a prominence of 347 meters.
