The Palazzo Bolongaro displays grand granite staircases, intricately decorated mosaic floors, and painted mythological frescoes throughout its interior spaces.
In 1780, successful tobacco merchant Giacomo Filippo Bolongaro constructed this residence, which later passed to his heir Anna Maria Simonetta Bolongaro.
The palace became the International Centre for Rosminian Studies in 1966, housing an extensive library and hosting academic conferences about Italian philosophy.
The palace grounds span 13,000 square meters and include gardens with exotic plants such as Magnolia Grandiflora and Cedar of Lebanon trees.
Princess Elisabetta of Saxony transformed the palace into a meeting point for European nobility, leading to its designation as Villa Ducale.
