Parco Alto Milanese

Parco Alto Milanese is a nature reserve stretching across three municipalities with varied landscapes and habitats. The park contains forests, open fields, and wetland areas connected by walking and cycling paths for visitors.

The region was once covered in thick forests that supported local metalworking industries until the early modern period. From the 16th to 18th centuries, large-scale logging transformed the landscape into open heathland.

The park serves as a gathering place for the surrounding communities, particularly during seasonal events and celebrations. This role shows how important green spaces are for connecting people and strengthening local bonds.

The park offers multiple trails for walking, cycling, and horseback riding, with designated areas for picnicking and outdoor recreation. Wear comfortable shoes and dress appropriately for the season when visiting.

The area hosts more than a hundred non-native plant species that have settled over decades and enriched the ecosystem. This blend of native and introduced plants makes the park an interesting place for nature watching.
