Parco naturale della Pineta di Appiano Gentile e Tradate, Regional park between Como and Varese, Italy.
The park covers 4,860 hectares of land with continuous forests dominated by Scots pine, chestnut, oak, and mixed woodland species.
Created in 1983, this protected area evolved from ancient moraine deposits formed by successive glaciations in the northern Po Valley.
The park territory extends across fifteen municipalities, with Castelnuovo Bozzente being the only town completely located within its boundaries.
Visitors can explore numerous walking trails through pine forests and observe 96 different bird species, including hawks, buzzards, and sparrow hawks.
The park contains small valleys with a north-south orientation and features remaining patches of moorland vegetation typical of Lombardy.
