Construction of this cultural center began in 1978 but faced delays due to the discovery of Roman tombs during excavation work in 1982.
The facility houses the Galleria d'Arte Moderna e Contemporanea di Messina, displaying a collection of 70 artworks from Italian and international artists.
The complex includes an 850-seat theater for performances, a public library named Tommaso Cannizzaro, and multiple conference rooms for community events.
The building features an inverted pyramid structure made of concrete and steel, designed specifically to withstand seismic activity in the region.
