Le Cornelle, Wildlife park in Valbrembo, Italy.
Le Cornelle is a wildlife park in Valbrembo, Italy, housing over 100 different animal species in naturalistic habitats spread across several themed sections. The facility organizes areas by geography, allowing visitors to experience animals from Africa, Asia, South America and Europe within different vegetation zones and landscape recreations.
The park began in 1981 and opened its gates to visitors who at the time had few opportunities to see exotic animals up close in northern Italy. Over the years the facility expanded steadily and added new species while increasingly focusing on conservation and education.
The park takes its name from a local toponym in the Lombard plain, where fields and meadows traditionally shaped the landscape. Today school groups from the region come here to learn about wildlife and observe animals from different continents firsthand.
It is best to visit the park on a weekday when it is quieter and the pathways are less crowded. The entire site is accessible for strollers and wheelchairs, so families with young children or people with limited mobility can comfortably explore the animal areas.
Some animals in the enclosures arrived here through rescue operations and cannot be released back into the wild. These residents receive permanent care here and also serve as ambassadors for their species, allowing visitors to learn their stories.
