Sant'Andrea, Romanesque church in Pagliadiccio, Italy.
The Sant'Andrea church stands on a hilltop overlooking Val di Vara, featuring three naves ending in three apses and a Baroque bell tower.
First documented in 963 through Emperor Otto I's diploma, the church served as the mother church for four chapels according to Pope Eugene III's privilege of 1148.
The church's columns display distinct capitals with anthropomorphic, zoomorphic, and phytomorphic decorations influenced by Romanesque architecture from the Po Valley region.
After extensive renovations between 2002 and 2011, the church reopened to worshippers with a ceremony attended by civil and religious authorities.
The central apse contains exceptional sculptural elements combining Antelami and Pisan styles from the second half of the 12th century.
