Riserva naturale La Pietra, Nature reserve in Montieri, Italy

The La Pietra Nature Reserve extends across 530 hectares of protected land, featuring diverse forests, streams, and a central ridge with sloping sides.

Established in 1996 through Provincial Council Resolution No. 13, the reserve gained recognition as a Site of Community Interest due to its forest preservation.

The reserve maintains a visitor center at Casa Nova in Belagaio, which serves as an educational hub for understanding Tuscan natural heritage.

Visitors can explore 23 kilometers of mountain biking trails through the reserve, connecting ancient rural settlements and offering moderate technical challenges.

The reserve houses the Lupinus grecus, a plant species recently discovered as part of Italian flora, adding to its scientific importance.
