Sacro monte di Arona, Calvary in Italy
The Sacro Monte di Arona is a religious complex located on the San Carlo hill overlooking Arona.
Conceived in the early 17th century, the series of chapels were dedicated to St. Francis of Assisi and St. Carlo Borromeo.
It forms part of the nine Sacri Monti of Piedmont and Lombardy, which are UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

The complex features a massive statue of Saint Carlo Borromeo, regarded as one of the tallest in the world.
