Stadio della Vittoria, building in Bari, Italy

Stadio della Vittoria is a large sports venue in Bari with an oval shape and capacity for about 19,000 spectators. The stands sit close to the playing field, providing clear views of events, and the facility includes athletic tracks, gyms, and medical rooms alongside the main pitch.

The stadium opened in 1934 and served for many decades as the home of local football team A.S. Bari. After wartime damage and repairs, it became a shelter for Albanian refugees in 1991 before being restored for modern sports and cultural use in the late 1990s.

The stadium's name, Vittoria, means victory and was chosen to honor the sacrifices of soldiers. Today it serves as a gathering place where locals take pride in watching rugby matches, American football games, and concerts that connect the community through shared sporting moments.

The stadium is easily accessible by car via main highways or by city buses that stop nearby. For large events, special shuttle services are arranged to help visitors arrive safely and comfortably.

In 1991 the stadium became an emergency shelter for about 20,000 Albanian refugees who arrived by ship called Vlora. This unexpected role shows how a sports ground transformed into a refuge for people in crisis, adding a humanitarian chapter to its history.
