Medicina Radio Observatory

Medicina Radio Observatory is a research facility near Bologna with a 32-meter parabolic antenna that detects signals between 1.4 and 23 GHz. The equipment is designed to capture radio waves from space objects for scientific study and analysis.

The National Institute for Astrophysics established this facility in 1964, choosing the location near Bologna for its favorable conditions for radio observations. The site was selected because the area provided the stability and isolation needed for precise measurements.
