Villa Garzoni, Renaissance villa in Pontecasale, Candiana, Italy.
The villa features a double loggia with five arches on each level, creating a harmonious progression from the entrance to the countryside beyond.
The Garzoni family commissioned architect Jacopo Sansovino to design this residence in 1527 after successfully draining the surrounding marshlands for agricultural use.
The villa introduced classical architectural elements to rural Veneto construction, establishing a foundation for subsequent Renaissance country houses in the region.
The estate includes extensive stables, service buildings, and a perimeter wall that encompasses both the main structure and surrounding agricultural lands.
A small chapel within the complex contains original stucco decorations created according to designs by Jacopo Sansovino himself.
