Count Pirro I Visconti Borromeo commissioned architect Martino Bassi to transform an agricultural estate into this noble residence between 1585 and 1589.
Artists Francesco Brambilla, Marco Antonio Prestinari, Camillo Procaccini, and Pier Francesco Mazzucchelli contributed to the villa's artistic decorations and sculptures.
The park remains open daily from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with guided tours of the Ninfeo resuming in May 2024.
The Ninfeo contains rooms adorned with black and white pebble mosaics, tempera paintings, and water features designed to surprise visitors.
