Archaeological Park of Santa Maria a Monte

The archaeological park contains extensive remains of ancient structures, including walls, a bell tower foundation, and a medieval crypt from different periods.

The site transformed from an Etruscan settlement in the 5th century BC to a Christian center with the construction of Sant'Ippolito church in the 4th century.

The Antiquarium museum, housed in a former convent, exhibits artifacts spanning from prehistoric times to the 16th century, including Greek coins and marble sculptures.

The park opens Tuesday and Wednesday from 9:00 to 14:00, Thursday to Sunday from 13:30 to 18:30, with advance reservations required for groups over ten people.

A seventy-centimeter Etruscan marble monument discovered near the site indicates the presence of an ancient necropolis in the surrounding area.
