Pandino Castle

Pandino Castle is a medieval fortress in Lombardy with four corner towers that define a spacious inner courtyard. The courtyard is surrounded by pointed-arch arcades and columns that form the heart of the structure.

The fortress was built between 1355 and 1370 as a hunting lodge in a wooded region under local rule. In the 15th century, additional defensive towers were added to strengthen the structure against attacks.

The walls display original frescoes with geometric patterns and heraldic symbols reflecting local rulers and their power. You can see these decorations in the courtyard, which preserves the artistic heritage of the region.

The castle now houses municipal offices and a police station, but the inner courtyard remains open to visitors during daylight hours. You can explore the arcades and columns even though some areas are not accessible.

The structure was attacked and captured multiple times by outside forces, revealing its strategic importance in the past. Despite reinforcements added in later centuries, it could not fully repel these assaults.
