Castel Bragher

Castel Bragher is a castle with tile roofs and a prominent tower that rises from forest between Taio and Tres villages. The structure displays thick stone walls that once served as defensive barriers, along with remains of an ancient drawbridge at its entrance.

The castle was founded in 1275 when Bragherio di Coredo received it as a fief, then grew over 400 years under the rule of the Thun family. This long period saw multiple rebuildings and reinforcements to adapt the structure to changing needs.

The Torre della Pece and the chapel show skilled work in painted wall surfaces that reflect the daily life and religious beliefs of those who lived here. These spaces tell stories of the people who once made this place home.

The interior spaces are not open to visitors, but the exterior areas offer views of the defensive structure and its protective elements. The best overview comes from the road that connects the two nearby villages.

The structure started as a simple residential tower and was gradually expanded into a complex defensive system. This evolution reflects how security and control needs changed across the centuries.
