Sanctuary of the Madonna of Miracles, Baroque shrine in Alcamo, Italy.
The Sanctuary of Madonna dei Miracoli features a single nave with eight altars adorned with detailed stuccoes created by Nicolò Curti in 1762.
Construction of the sanctuary began in 1547 after Governor Fernando Vega discovered an icon of Madonna dei Miracoli in an abandoned chapel.
The sanctuary received designation as a Holy Door of Alcamo during the Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy in 2015, alongside the Basilica of Our Lady.
Visitors access the sanctuary through a pebbled footpath leading to grand steps, with the main entrance displaying distinct Renaissance and Baroque portals.
A marble sarcophagus created by Rocco di Rapi in 1557 contains the remains of Governor Don Fernando Vega within the sanctuary walls.
