Corinaldo's walls, Medieval fortification walls in Corinaldo, Italy.

The defensive walls of Corinaldo extend for 912 meters, featuring gates, towers, murder holes, embrasures, loopholes, and a protective moat system.

Following destruction by papal forces in 1360, the walls reconstruction started in 1367 under Pope Urban V, with Renaissance additions completed between 1484 and 1490.

The walls represent medieval Italian military engineering, incorporating designs by Sienese architect Francesco Di Giorgio Martini during the Renaissance period.

Three main entrances provide access through the walls: Porta Nova, Porta del Mercato, and Porta San Giovanni, each accompanied by observation towers.

The walls protected citizens during a 23-day siege in 1517, leading Pope Leo X to grant city rights to Corinaldo as recognition of their defense.
