Genoa Stock Exchange, Historical stock exchange palace in Piazza De Ferrari, Genoa, Italy.
The Genoa Stock Exchange is a neoclassical building with a curved facade and large arched columns, located on a main plaza in the center of the city. Today it houses different offices and business spaces.
The building was designed by architect Adolfo Coppedè and opened in 1912 as one of Italy's ten major stock exchanges. It operated as a trading hub until 1997 and marked the city's shift from maritime commerce to modern finance.
The palace stands at the heart of the city and represents how important commerce and finance were to Genoa in the early 1900s. Its style and location show the wealth and confidence of the merchants who built it.
You can view the exterior and the surrounding plaza any time, as these areas are publicly accessible. The interior now serves as offices, so access inside is limited.
The building sits on a plaza that was created as part of a major urban redesign of the city center. This square did not exist before - the entire area was reshaped to make room for this development.
