Church of San Panfilo

Church of San Panfilo is a parish building in Villagrande featuring a stone facade that blends Romanesque, Gothic, and Baroque architectural styles. Inside, simple wooden-beamed ceilings and stone altars reflect the many construction and repair periods the structure has experienced.

The church was founded in the 12th century and underwent continuous modifications through Romanesque, Gothic, and Baroque periods. Major restoration work following a regional earthquake in the early 21st century brought the building to its current state.

The church maintains its position as a central religious institution in Tornimparte, hosting regular services and religious celebrations for the local community.

The church underwent substantial restoration work between 1990 and 1995, followed by additional repairs after the 2009 earthquake that affected the L'Aquila region.
