Rocca dei Terzi, Medieval castle in Sissa, Italy

The stone castle features a 27-meter-high central tower and two lateral residential wings, creating a symmetrical architectural composition in the Emilia-Romagna landscape.

The Terzi family constructed this fortified complex in 1450, which later transformed from a military stronghold into an aristocratic residence during the 18th century.

The former council chamber contains remarkable frescoes by Sebastiano Galeotti, painted between 1676 and 1741, representing the artistic heritage of the region.

Guided tours operate on Sundays and holidays at 10:00 and 11:00, with admission prices of 5 euros for adults and 3 euros for children aged 6 to 10.

The castle houses a rare iron clock mechanism from 1450-1550, featuring two separate trains for timekeeping and chimes powered by falling weights.
