Castle of Corenno Plinio, Medieval castle in Dervio, Italy.
The castle features two distinct towers, strong walls constructed from local stone, and battlements positioned on a promontory overlooking Lake Como.
Built between 1363 and 1370 on Roman foundations, the castle served as a strategic fortification for the Andreani family to control lake access.
The adjacent Church of St. Thomas Beckett contains Neo-Gothic tombs of the Andreani family and displays medieval architectural elements.
The castle opens five days per year for guided tours, with reservations available through the municipal library of Dervio.
The castle walls incorporate swallow-tailed merlons and narrow slots designed for crossbow defense, demonstrating medieval military architecture.
