Cala Granu is a beach on Sardinia's northeastern coast featuring fine white sand backed by tall granite cliffs and Mediterranean shrubs. The sheltered bay has shallow, transparent water suitable for swimming and snorkeling among rocky outcrops.
The beach became developed as part of the Costa Smeralda project during the 1960s when the region transformed into a tourist destination. Since then it has grown into a popular bathing spot for both locals and travelers.
The name Cala Granu means "grain cove" in Sardinian, referring to the fine sand texture that covers the shore. Locals and visitors gather here to enjoy the sheltered waters and the natural beauty framed by the surrounding rock formations.
The beach has gentle access points and plenty of space for lounging, with sunbed and umbrella rentals available along the shore. Parking areas are nearby and a few food options lie within walking distance.
The cove offers views of the La Maddalena archipelago islands while swimming in the shallow sandy-bottomed waters. The natural rock formations around the bay also create good snorkeling spots.
