Ariano Irpino Norman Castle, Medieval castle at Colle Castello in Ariano Irpino, Italy.
The Norman Castle features four truncated cone towers connected by corridors along the perimeter walls, forming a trapezoidal structure at 811 meters elevation.
Initially constructed during the Lombard period, the fortress received substantial modifications under Norman rule to control the valleys of Ufita, Miscano, and Cervaro.
The Museum of Norman Civilization within the castle displays 200 authentic weapons and includes a detailed model depicting the 1066 Battle of Hastings.
The castle entrance and information point for visitors is located at Via Castello in Ariano Irpino, within the grounds of the Municipal Villa.
From the keep at the highest point of the castle, visitors can see across multiple valleys to the Gulf of Manfredonia on clear days.
