Teatro Lauro Rossi, Historic theatre in Macerata, Italy.
The Teatro Lauro Rossi features a bell-shaped auditorium plan with three tiers of boxes decorated with ornate balconies and raised balustrades.
Commissioned in 1765 and designed by Antonio Galli Bibiena, the theatre was later adapted by Cosimo Morelli and officially opened in 1774.
The venue hosts numerous performances throughout the year and participates in the Macerata Opera Festival alongside the nearby Sferisterio.
Located at Piazza della Liberta 21 in Macerata, the theatre maintains regular programming of classical music concerts, plays, and dance productions.
This theatre represents the only remaining example of traditional Italian theatre architecture in the Marches region of Italy.
