Complesso monumentale di Santa Croce e Tutti i Santi

The Santa Croce complex features a church with a wide central nave, side chapels, and artistic decorations including works by Giorgio Vasari and marble altars.

Pope Pius V initiated the construction of this religious complex on August 1, 1566, with architects Ignazio Danti and Martino Longhi directing the project.

The monastery contains numerous artistic treasures, including a 16th-century wooden choir, rare marble statues, and illuminated manuscripts commissioned by Pope Pius V.

The religious museum and church receive visitors throughout the year, with recorded attendance of 3,623 people in 2019 and 1,200 in 2021.

This complex represents the first European site where Counter-Reformation doctrines were implemented, serving as a center for Dominican monks fighting religious dissent.
