Orrido di Nesso, Natural canyon in Nesso, Italy.

The Orrido di Nesso forms where the Tuf and Nosee streams merge, creating a 200-meter-high waterfall that flows into Lake Como through limestone walls.

Leonardo da Vinci documented this geological formation in his Codice Atlantico, describing it as a great mountain crevice in the Nesso territory.

The waterfall's power supported local manufacturing development since the 14th century, enabling the operation of mills, paper mills, and silk processing facilities.

Visitors can observe the canyon from Piazza Castello or the Civera Bridge, with access to different viewpoints via a 270-step descent to Lake Como.

The canyon walls amplify the sound of cascading water, creating natural acoustics that echo throughout the surrounding rock formations.
