Lüsner und Rodenecker Alm, Mountain pasture in South Tyrol, Italy.
Lüsner und Rodenecker Alm is a highland plateau in the Isarco Valley with rolling meadows and several mountain huts scattered between 1.900 and 2.000 meters elevation. The landscape features gentle slopes with various hiking paths suitable for different abilities.
The area was inhabited in prehistoric times by hunters, as evidenced by flint tools discovered during archaeological work that reveal these ancient dwellers. Over millennia, this highland pasture became essential to livestock farming in the region.
Local farmers bring their animals to these meadows during warmer months, continuing practices that have shaped the region's identity and connection to the land for centuries.
Multiple parking areas such as Herol, Tulper-Gampis, and Oberflitt serve as entry points to the hiking trails with varying difficulty levels. The paths are typically well-marked and in good condition from spring through autumn.
From this highland plateau, visitors can see six different mountain ranges in the distance, including the Ötztal and Stubai Alps as well as the Odle and Brenta groups. This panoramic view in all directions makes a visit here special no matter which route you choose.
